"So if you're ready I'll begin
To introduce our heroine;
Magic Annie is her name
And here's the story of her fame..."

Owner of Just Maude, Annie Heyworth, studied Fashion & Textiles at St Martins College of Art and Design. She began her career in fashion at Barbara Hulanicki's legendary Kensington department store Biba. Here Annie learnt some of her most invaluable lessons about personal style - have fun, take risks and always make sure your drink matches your outfit at parties.
This was followed by periods working as a fashion illustrator, stained glass artist and handbag designer. In 2004, frustrated by the lack of imagination on the high street, she returned to her first love of clothing design and Just Maude was born.
Combining her skills as both a designer and a buyer, Annie creates unique, handmade pieces for Just Maude, as well as sourcing items from some of the UK's most exciting designers.
When recent fashion graduate Amy Cook came into the shop, she was so smitten by the Just Maude collection that she immediately offered her services and now works for the label in collaboration with Annie. In 2010 the duo were invited to the launch of the Gucci Interiors Collection at the Deco Affair in London and were commissioned by Patrizia Gucci to create a dress capturing the essence of one of Annie and Amy's original designs (photos can be found under 'fashion').
Annie and Amy share a similar commitment to women's fashion - not to be led by faddy trends (so no, you won't find Lady Gaga's meat dress here), and to create and source imaginative, beautiful clothing for women of all ages and sizes.
Perhaps most importantly; many of the clothes in Just Maude are one-off pieces so you can be sure no one else will have the same outfit at parties...although we can't guarantee the colours will always match your drink.
